We know what’s going on out there. We know what accidents look like. That’s why we do so many extra tests that are not called for by legislation.
Helps you keep a safe distance from the vehicle in front. It also warns you of any threat and activates the emergency brake if you get too close.
This system tracks road markings with a camera. When it looks like you’re straying over them, it’ll ping you a signal.
These lights flash when the brakes are applied sharply. This in turn alerts the vehicles behind you, helping to avoid collisions.
This system monitors your driving behaviour. If it records anything erratic about it, you’ll receive an alert asking you to think about having a break. And if you continue driving and get a second warning your cruise control is turned off in order to activate the driver.
This feature activates a radar while you’re changing lane. This way, you’re kept informed of any obstacles in your blind spots.
The Electronic Stability Control uses engine power and individual wheel brakes to reduce the risk of skidding and rollover.
I-Shift makes driving safer by timing each gear change perfectly. There’s no heavy clutch, and no stick to wrestle with. The simplicity of the system reduces driver fatigue and ups focus, helping you to concentrate on the road and the traffic around you.

And the tests are thorough – with the interior fittings in place and full storage compartments. Even the coffee maker is crash tested, to ensure nothing inside the cab will injure you if you have an accident.
With night mode, drivers have the option of instantly switching off all unnecessary dashboard backlights with the press of a button. The result is less glare in the driver’s field of vision, and fewer distractions from reflections in the windscreen and side mirrors. It is best suited to long-haul drivers when driving at night, and when reversing and manoeuvring in tough weather conditions or complex environments, such as when connecting or disconnecting trailers.
Every Volvo FH has a large skylight that doubles as an escape hatch. It also gives a bright, airy cab – helping you stay alert and focused on the road.
